What's wrong with our current building?
The major concerns with our current building included 8 inadequate classrooms, no gymnasium and a very small campus with no usable athletic fields. We had planned to add new and remodel other classrooms and to build a gymnasium. That would have addressed two of the three concerns. When we found that sound abatement money could be used to relocate, we took the opportunity to address all three needs.
Why Eagan?
In our search for available land we looked at 10-15 potential sites within a 15 minute driving range from our current campus. Most of the sites we identified were too small, had buildings that would need very extensive remodeling, were too expensive or not available within our time frame (move in during 2007-08 school year). In the end we seriously pursued one site in Bloomington, two in Eagan and one in Inver Grove Heights. The site we purchased in the northeast corner of Eagan most closely met our criteria for location, cost and availability.
What is the plan for future growth of the school?
We have designed the new building to accommodate up to 450 students. This is an optimum size student body for the establishment of the culture of Trinity School and the execution of our education program.
How long will the Capital Campaign last?
The campaign is scheduled to last until we move into the new building.
Who owns the building?
The local branch of the People of Praise will own this property for the purpose of fulfilling its educational mission. Trinity School has a long term lease agreement in place with the People of Praise.
How will Trinity School and People of Praise share the new building?
In this regard the building will have three kinds of spaces: those normally used only by Trinity School (classrooms and school offices), those used only by the People of Praise (People of Praise offices, Action Division room and a meeting room) and those we will share (auditorium, gymnasium, media center, kitchen and commons area). Except for the offices, the spaces that are normally used only by the school or the community can be reserved by the other group when the need arises.
Who do I make my check out to?
You may make your check out to Trinity School, noting it is for the Capital Campaign.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, both People of Praise and Trinity School are not-for-profit charitable organizations and your contribution to this project is tax deductible.
