Who:
Trinity Schools were founded in 1981 by the People of Praise. Trinity School at River Ridge, the second of three campuses, opened in 1987 in the parish house of Gethsemane Episcopal Church in downtown Minneapolis. The initial enrollment was 25 students in grades seven, eight and nine. It grew steadily. In 1991, the school moved to its present location in Bloomington with an enrollment of 99 students. In 1997 a dozen classrooms were added to the building to accommodate a student body that had grown to nearly 400 students. In the fall of 2003 planning began for another expansion of the campus to include a gymnasium and six more classrooms. In December of 2004, days before commissioning architects to draw up the blue prints, it was discovered that the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) would allow the money that had been earmarked for sound abatement to be used to move the school to a new location away form the new runway. After a lengthy search the property in the rolling hills of northwest Eagan, MN was purchased. It is a twelve minute drive from the current location. The building is anticipated to be complete in December 2007.
Where:
The address of the new building is 601 River Ridge Parkway located on 12 acres at the intersection of O'Neil Drive and Argenta Trail in Eagan, MN. A small corner of the property (part of the future soccer practice field) is located in Inver Grove Heights.
